The asterisk can't connect to a word like that. There are some alternative ways to do this. Here's an easy one:
kp: tell me * about (you|yourself)
kp: tell me * about (you|yourself)

I think someone mentioned it earlier, but SUNN1E's hot rating has stayed at 599 for quite a while now.
Meanwhile, Pete Puma's development level dropped from 641 to 578 after I added quite a bit to him yesterday. WTF?

Two problems.
1) One of my bot's responses to 'but' is "But me no buts" but it keeps coming out as "but i no buts" and I can't understand why.
2) One of my xnones has four levels of seeks but they should all get triggered because the response for all of them is (*). However, it stops just before the final level and picks a random xnone so the whole thing doesn't make sense. I noticed this cropping up in transcripts and I've just spent 25 minutes in debug trying to trigger the one response I want so I could see for myself! But I'm still none the wiser.

Are you saying that it's just a '(*)' for each seek?
If so, try using xnomatch instead.

Once I made a message really long and it wouldn't come up and it was too long and that was the reason... Though I think that's not a very common problem.
