Newcomers

The first site was helpful (though I couldn't seem to find any info on "inner life". Can I view that while I'm chatting to a bot?) But I can't really see how the secound one is a lot of help. It just seems to go on about BJ.

GO to BJ's then hit KEYNOMES..If you can't find it there you aren't going to find it! There are keynomes from several bots. Oh, you do have a bot? I wouldn't worry about alot of this at first. just stick with the basics until your bot is up and running.

I'm not talking about making a bot (not yet anyway). More like talking about the bots already made and how to get more info on them.

I guess the easiest way is to just ask. What info did you want?

Sigh. Well, for a start, how do I find more info about the "inner life" of the bots? Also, is there a way to find out the things you can say (like a bot says it likes ice cream and wants you to buy it and the only way to do that is to type something like "*buy it*" or "buy ice cream") to the bot you're talking to. Cuz sometimes you can get stuck in a conversation and can't think of anything to say.

Btw. If/when I do build a bot I'm going to put this info to good use. Might build it in the summer.

You just talk to the bot like a person. They will all react different. And most will say something different everytime you ask. The inner life is mostly for the bot maker. it stores memories and such.

But what if you don't know what to say or do?

Anyways, I'm still having that connection socket problem for some reason. I can't get any bots to respond because of it as well. Grrrr.

What I mean by that it just says they don't want to talk to me.

Ok. Now the cripts seem to be mixed up. The bots are comming out with really random things no matter whatI say or ask. And to top it off, the connection socket problem seems to be worse. Now I just get a blank screen of yellow. Someone's got to sort this out.

Perhaps the site should be temporary shut down to get this fixed. Not much point in the site if the prblem continues. It is mostly about bots after all. This HAS to get fixed. I have no idea what's causing it. Has anything like this happend before?

Give it a bit of time. The Prof is making some changes (see the news section when you log in) and having a fund drive for a new server. Things will get better.
