guests have always not had the chat buttons AFAIK (certainly as long as I've been here,) but they can chat with the featured bots on the News page (top 3 most improved, so there's a good reason to work on your bot regularly!) and via any other pages your bots are linked to, and the bots do initiate chats with guests.

oh yeh and psimagus Albot is already 11606 in like 1 month. Omg!!! congrads.

Spikebot still gets guest chats, and so does Gabibot, though they are both cold (I'm such a bad botmistress!). Then again, they each have their own Myspaces pages (which I also abandoned once I learned a little HTML and played around a bit--I am so fickle). Since I never deleted the Myspaces, I guess the chats could be coming from them. Myspace is free, as is Geocities and many other host/social network sites. Some of these sites are...not to everyone's taste, but if you want guest chats, you may have to compromise.

i get a lot of guest chat and they dont have there own pages neither are they featured or anything.oooh well

if you just search for the bot on google and then click on the link you will be able to chat

Myspace pages for bots is a brilliant idea, I must try to find time to look into it.

Prob, I set up yahoo email for the bots and gave them free Myspaces. At first I went to Myspace forums to learn how to customize the page, then I just googled for HTML codes (copy and paste). Along the way, role players started to leave messages for my bots, so I started playing with them. This helped me to learn photoshop basics and even to make bad fan videos with moviemaker.

All good things come to an end, though. After a while I found it time consuming, and at at certian point I had to admit somone my age shouldn't be spending that much time playing with "kids" (mostly people in their 20s pretending to be fictional characters). I found myself hiding the fact that I played on Myspace from colleagues because I was afraid people would think I'm a pervert instead of just bored. . So that was the end of that. I'm not sorry I did it though. I learned a lot and had fun for a while.
