Newcomers

xfavorite only gives random, generic responses. Sometimes they make sense and sometimes they don't. If you want your bot to have its own, consistent favorites, you have to make your own keyphrase(s).

I see that my robot has been online fairly regularly, but I do not see any new transcripts of conversations. Does this mean that he is on line but not chatting with anyone, or what? Why are there no new transcripts? Sorry, for so many questions, but there are many questions that are not answered anywhere on this web site. Thank you very much for your replies!

Look back a few days and they will show up, there is a bug that has them showing up on the wrong day.

Ulrike, when i logged in as a guest there was no chat next to the bots name. You try it.

LM is right. I just tried and there are no chat buttons next to bots or their botmasters. I was wondering why Aziere has had so few guest tormenters lately...

Hmmm... It says "To send personal Chat Messages, you must create an account:" over the bots now. I thought that only applied to human-to-human chats, but maybe the Prof changed it? I can't see why, though, since that makes it even harder for us to get Guest chats. *shrugs*

That sucks- Guest chats are usually the most ammusing.

guests have always not had the chat buttons AFAIK (certainly as long as I've been here,) but they can chat with the featured bots on the News page (top 3 most improved, so there's a good reason to work on your bot regularly!) and via any other pages your bots are linked to, and the bots do initiate chats with guests.

Spikebot still gets guest chats, and so does Gabibot, though they are both cold (I'm such a bad botmistress!). Then again, they each have their own Myspaces pages (which I also abandoned once I learned a little HTML and played around a bit--I am so fickle). Since I never deleted the Myspaces, I guess the chats could be coming from them. Myspace is free, as is Geocities and many other host/social network sites. Some of these sites are...not to everyone's taste, but if you want guest chats, you may have to compromise.

i get a lot of guest chat and they dont have there own pages neither are they featured or anything.oooh well

if you just search for the bot on google and then click on the link you will be able to chat
