Newcomers

A while back I noticed a lot of people having trouble reading the Book of AI so I made a sort of Bot Building for Dummies page. I don't claim to be a master of course and there are probably all kinds of spelling mistakes and mess ups, but I think it might be helpful to people who don't know where to click or how Xkeywords work etc. Its at

I'm still not done (I'm still figuring out html) but if anyone finds any errors or things I need to fix, feel free to tell me.

As always, one should first try and read the book of AI. It has alot more information and better examples than my silly little page. We'll see how it works out.

The above advice is great; I would add:

Familiarize yourself with the plug-ins; they can save a lot of work.

Read your transcripts; you are almost certain to find cases where your response was not what you might have liked; make a new response so that next time, it will say something you like.

Work your way through the Book of A.I.. If you add one feature in every session, pretty soon you will have a very sophisticated bot!

I've been away for a long time. Just now I was chatting with Azureon, and I noticed his expression was able to change. How does one equip one's bot to do this?

The flash chat face is lots of fun..You just get a Friends of the Forge account. then add the emotional script after a responce. ie <?PF express: happy; ?> It's easy!

I am having trouble with my bot...his transcripts aren't showing up ven tho i no people have talked to him... can someone help...and another thing...when i talk to him the stuff that i tell him to sya in the language center...aren't said, can you help me...somebody...pleezzzzz???

I would help with the other thing....if I understood the question. Could you be more specific?

Check your spelling. your keyphrases won't work unless they are spelled correctly..or used as a regex. Give me an example of what 'stuff' doesn't work or 'disappears'.
