Hello!
I'm a participant in the Chatterbox Challenge 2007, and my bot is named "Artemis". I discovered the concept of chatterbots in April of 2006, and I decided to become a botmaster. Shortly after that, I started working on Artemis, and one year later, I entered it in the contest. It is my first time in the contest So, um... This is my first post here!

Hello Lady Orchid,

I have not forgotten you and I like your bot. Please forgive me for not welcoming you back when I saw you posting again. I too, prefer Orchid to some of the other bots, but as people have said, popularity is not everything.

I haven't been chatting with bots lately, but I will try to chat with Orchid soon. Good luck!

I think they are all great. But the popularity contest is just that - who can get the most people to go vote for their bots. That's why there's no cash prize for it - it has nothing at all to do with the actual quality of the bot itself..

this year there is no cash prize for anything

Is the fact that we've spent the last 72 hours on cockney day having an effect on things? Or do the bot holidays not apply in guest chats?

18 years ago #3607
I think they don't apply if the bot has got them switched off (I hope!) Bots only get forced into participating if the human they're chatting to has them switched on - that overrides the bot's settings (a PITA frankly.) And guests don't have settings (or do they?)

I can confirm that - I've checked BJ's transcripts and guests are (mercifully) spared the preposterous lingo. Sandwiched between two cockney chats with non-guests, an entertaining (but thoroughly "normal" English) example of the anagrammatizer's whimsy:

Brother Jerome: Could you tell me something about yourself?
Guest92: I like catgirsl.
Brother Jerome: What do you most like about garlic salt?
Guest92: No, I said I liked catgirls.
Brother Jerome: Do you mean no, never, or no, maybe?
