Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.

What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

I spoke to her a bit yesterday. Me and my bot love her. I have neglected Jennifer for too long and have recently been working out some issues. She has not been chatting on her own much.

Yeah. Notepad makes funny characters. Use Wordpad. It won't corrupt the formatting.

Okay, I'll try it...

I just finished giving my bot Selendrile a new personality. He was my first bot and in need of a change. Could someone please talk to him so I can work out the kinks? It would be much appreciated.

Stop posting in every forum! Oh, and I don't really understand what you mean...

Right now I'm working on my new bot, Bob Shooney. I'd like it if you talked to him. Be patient, I still didn't get rid of that annoying "I was just born..." xnone. As a matter of fact, I haven't really worked on the x-keywords yet...

Speaking of xnones... What are a few good ideas of what I should put in them? On my first bot, I found that they just kept repeating, were annoying, didn't make sense, or were just... dumb.

I think the x-keywords really are important.

Ugh. I just added about 20 xnones then got an error message and they're all gone. I'm quite annoyed at that...

Don't worry about adding conditional scripting and stuff at first. I wouldn't change the emotional respns. either. It just makes trouble with a new bot.

I started out programming the x-keywords. That helped me get the idea of how to put keyphrases of my own in there correctly. As for xnones, sounds liek you've got some ideas now (even though they got deleted! Aaaahhh!). The book of AI recommends actions, like *sigh* etc.. Or use them to change the subject...

x-keywords are where you can really put in the personality of your bots. The xcommands cover a lot of keyphrases. And your hello's and good byes also give your bot its personality.

Also, xnones are good places for your bot to direct the conversation to something it knows about (has lots of keywords about). Like if your bot is a soccer fanatic, or likes to eat beetles...or whatever.

And especially at the beginning, xkeyphrases will come up a lot, so it's good to have a lot of variety there. When your bot gets to be more developed, the xkeyphrases don't show up quite as much. I think with Sonora, once she got to 3000, xnones didn't show up much at all.
