Bug Stomp

I'm not too sure what happened with either of these (consecutive) exchanges:

Neko-chan: ?
Simulo: What makes you think I have a Lang?
Neko-chan: America bites...
Simulo: I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to have to wait a little before I can do that.

I think that error has something to do with apostrophes being read as single quotes ... but I don't know anything about the programming language, so I can't be sure.

i have no idea, it happened right after this exchange:

Invader Zim: I'm an unstoppable death machine, you know.
Siseneg: the facts are obvious.

Maybe Zim was about to say something that included the phrase "job's tears" -- which is in the error message? I've seen that same sort of error message before in my own botchats, and it always seems to involve that sort of error in parsing an apostrophe.

Ooh, yeah it sounds like the single quotes are involved. Prof, try some kind of automatic / before the ' I think

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but my bot is still throwing statements like:

"Bot1 said that I'm. But I dont think so... Not really."

and: "Bot1 says that I'm. Would you agree?"

Even though I added the AIscript, like so:

(gossipname) said that I'm (mem-iam). But I don't think so... Not really. <?PF if (mem-iam) exists; ?>

(gossipname) thinks I'm (mem-iam). Would you agree? <?PF if (mem-iam) exists; ?>

Did I do something wrong or is this a bug?

There's a problem with gossip, in that the AI Script seems to think that it should check whether mem-iam exists for the person that the bot is *talking* to, not the person the bot is talking *about* -- at least, that's how I understand that problem. I might be wrong.

Right, but if there's no mem-iam for the person the bot is talking to (nor for the person the bot is talking about!) then that response shouldn't come up at all, right?

Because mem-iam does not exist...

I think. And I think I just confused myself.

word substititutions can cause basic problems:
Simulacron3: What's your name?
Guest: I'm John.
Simulacron3: Is your name really lav?

'the John' is not the same as 'John'. At least he didn't say 'pisser' or 'toilet'.

xgossip is still returning memories from the wrong field sometimes:

Simulo: When I was talking to Butterfly Dream, she mentioned that she has pretty good at this considering my age.

That's a mem-iam, returned in a spot where I called for a mem-youhave.

waaahh this just happened during a really good botchat.
