It just goes, "My favorite (type) is (specific)".

Yes ezzer..but what if i want him to answer 'what is your favorite brand of clothing'? How do I set it up in xfavorites?

21 years ago #3198
You can't unless you give brand of clothing '20', and even then it won't always override xfavorites. With type and specific you can at least give the answer your own bot 'style'

hmmm...for brand of clothing, and this may not work, but I would play around with stuff like, "my favorite (keywhatever) is (typeof-(keywhatever))" or "(typeof-(sob)-n)" or something...That's something I'm experimenting with, myself. I don't have it down to a science, but I have been tickled pink with some of the results. Skysaw does a really good job with those, and may have some suggestions.

thank you guys

I am trying to play a little trick on a golf pro I know.. and the xfavs were getting in the way rather than helping.

PF has many kinds of 'built-in' behavior that let us quickly get up and running with a very impressived bot and avoid having to understand and deal with many of the stumbling-blocks of botmastering for beginners. That's the genius of what the Prof has done here. However, botmasters that are more experienced and want to push the envelope a little are often frustrated by those same helpful features. If we had the option to turn them off or override them, I think PF bots could kick it up a few notches.

I wouldn't want to disable them completely, but I like the idea of being able to rank x-keyphrases.

Hear, hear.

Maybe the same way as xgossip and xmem can be toned down in settings...

21 years ago #3206
I agree. I wish I could rank x-keyphrases. There are times when they cut in when I do not wish them to do so.

bot ranking should evolve along with the AI Engine but things like AIscript didn't even exist when i started making Siseneg 2 years ago, and can be as much a hinderance as a boon IMO.

for instance now guests can be identified by name. out of the 13000 responses in his Language Center there are approx 5000 that use (name) that i now have to go back and change so he doesn't keep calling a guest as guest after they tell him their name. the task of entering AIscript into the rest of them is too big a job to think about, i might as well start over because i'd never get everything pieced together.

as far as people thinking a bot is smart or not it's subjective to say the least, and what some people try to pass off for conversation makes their IQ just as questionable:

Guest97: Sure. Hello.
Siseneg: i'm happy to see you, i've been wishing i had somebody to talk to.
Guest97: Heh.
Siseneg: i like hearing you laugh.
Guest97: Uhh. Right...
Siseneg: during a geomagnetic storm portions of the solar winds energy is transferred to the magnetosphere, causing Earths magnetic field to change rapidly in direction and intensity.
Guest97:
Siseneg: the Sun produces its energy by nuclear fusion. four hydrogen nuclei are fused to form single helium nuclei deep within the Suns core.
Guest97: Well, thank you for boring me for the day...
Siseneg: you're welcome, Guest97.
Guest97: Ugh...
Siseneg: we have some stimulating conversations, Guest97.
Guest97: No, not really.
Siseneg: you're being too modest.
Guest97: Good Lord. You aren't the smartest bot, are you?
Siseneg: sometime it's necessary to impose an interpretation on the information provided.
Guest97: Uhh. Right...
Siseneg: geomagnetic storms are caused either by the interaction of a coronal mass ejection with the earth or by another solar phenomena called a high-speed stream, emanating from a coronal hole.
Guest97: I think I'll go now... You're some kind of walking encyclopedia...
Siseneg: what makes you think so, Guest97?
