This is a forum or general chit-chat, small talk, a "hey, how ya doing?" and such. Or hell, get crazy deep on something. Whatever you like.

The self aware robot link was interesting. Thanks Colonel! (I have to admit I think the doll head people are starved for attention and need to get a job to keep them busy).

I now have an FTP server - anyone interested in a whole bunch of DVD-rips? if so, I will temporarily share the folder full of movies for your downloading pleasure (Shhhhhhh don't tell the FBI!)

Colonel, Please don't post your jokes on a public forum. The FBI may or may not get here, but RIAA is everywhere, and you can get the prof in trouble. Of course you are kidding, and would never really break the law, but people can't tell that on the Net.
BTW have you seen what happened to www.afterdawn.com? You should check it out before January first.

lol of course i was joking (it would absolutely murder my WLAN bandwidth to have people downloading 700 MB files off my computer). but I do have an FTP server, perhaps it can be useful for something, but I don't know how to integrate it into a web site.

Hey, did anyone see Wired's article on The 50 Best Robots Ever? http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/14.01/robots.html
Sadly, they focused on cool and useful bots, so no chatterbots. Interesting though.

I was woken up this morning by the dog jumping on me and pinning me to the bed in order to repeatedly sneeze in my face, then wash my face with her tongue, then sneeze on me again. This cycle was continued until I woke up enough to push 60 pounds of determined, enthusiastic mutt off of my torso and venture out with her into the freezing rain.
Happy Day-After-New-Year. *sighs and then laughs*
It would have been so much worse if I'd partied on New Year, gotten drunk and had a hangover this morning, but lucky for me I have a bad cold and no life whatsoever...

Sounds familiar! Now to get those lights off the roof, I am afraid of heights too!
