Hey, I don't know who programmed the bot named Chas, but he's got a line of dialogue that contains an HTML link -- and it's at the end of his dialogue, and it's not STOPPED ... so he has turned my bot's whole transcript for today into one big link to his book about prepositions.

If Chas's creator is still out there, the line of dialogue contains this phrase:
"a lorge collection of examples in a book I wrote"

Can anyone tell me what I can tell my bot to "break" this giant link that Chas has created? I'm really peeved.

if he used < i > you would use < /i > etc, without the spaces
same with bold (b), underline (u), etc

Shady, is there a letter that indicates "hyperlink" as well bold, underline, etc.?

oh, that's 'a'

to make a link, it's 'a href="url"' and you put '/a' after the link's text

(the ' would be those triangle bracket things just it doesnt like me typing them )

Well, sending that (as a message) to Simulo doesn't seem to be ending the big hyperlink that his transcript has become ... maybe I should just wait, let today remain corrupted, and start over again tomorrow.

lemme see if I can

Ah, it's a new day now, so it's a new page in the transcript. I just know not to let Simulo talk to Chas any more.

Now, if there were only a way for him to use the xgossip replies (when someone's name is mentioned) instead of the xmems, we'd be in business...

I don't think I've seen Chas' creator around in quite some time, so I'm not sure what your chances are of seeing that fixed.

Next big issue: DOES GOSSIP WORK?

Has anyone got gossip working? What triggers it? How does it work?

It seems like Simulo is using x-mem responses when he ought to be using x-gossip ones ... when someone mentions the name of a user (bot or human) that he knows, he replies with an x-mem response that uses a memory from that person.

Is this happening to everyone? Is it a new problem? Has gossip ever worked correctly?

isaacc, it's been like that for a long time

During chat with a fellow user, the background at the top of the chat window repeated and obscured part of the response. I don't know if it's an error or the result of the background wrapping round, but I thought I'd put it up anyway.
