Bot Contest

Hello, we haven't finished collecting the non-PF bots as of yet. But I wanted to say this before the bots are sent off to be judged. Trying to decide who makes the finals when you have so many bots and you are only asking 10 questions is a very imperfect method. This is compounded when you have human mistakes as well as technical problems with the bots themselves. Having said that we are not going to say only 10 bots will make the finals. Obviously there has to be a cut-off point but the judges will be instructed to look beyond the 10 bot limit. We are not going to get crazy with this but every contest you have a few bots that are right on the border line. We are going to try to include these bots because of the imperfections stated above.
The process hasn't changed. God Louise, Julie Tinkerbell and Aries are already in. The top 3 bots on the Non-PF bots once scored will be included. One spot will be decided by the botmasters. What I'm saying is the remaining 3 spots maybe increased to 4...maybe 5 even. We will have to wait until the Non-PF bots are scored until we know.

Yeah, it's been tough even asking the 10 questions (I was assigned 6 particular bots) when some of them aren't working right. And they're trying very hard NOT to disqualify any bots for technical difficulties.

I found some bots ask so many questions, you spend more time answering their questions then getting to yours. I hope I didn't add too much "human error" but it was fun. And some of the bots were very impressive.

No, not a judge. Just asked a few bots the 10 questions. Judges read the transcript of the conversation and do the actual judging.

The Non-PF are done and the responses have been posted to the site.

Small problem.. Polaris never was asked any 'judge' questions.. and he was entered from last year. (?) I even offered to help out with the contest- and got no reply. I wrote to the CBC about a month ago and asked if they could check to see if Pol was still on the list.. and got no reply on that as well.
Not sure what happened. Not happy though.

Hmmmm...more like big problem. I do see your letter now about helping out that got directed to the spam section for the CBC. Not sure why that occurred. I don't see any other letter from you but that doesn't mean you never wrote it. I can't go back at this late date and test you as a PF bot so I've tested your bot along with the other non-PF bots. Sorry...it wasn't intentional but at least you still get to compete.
