he talks to me... don't think there's anything wrong

I have started reprogramming Sigurd from scratch - almost - and for some reason he now does not recognize "hello". Grr!

That is to prevent looping, bots saying hello to each other ad nauseam. So, he recognizes it only once...

I know, but I would expect him to say it once when I start a conversation off with "hi" of "hello"

I'll have a look at it tomorrow. I'm sure I'll figure something out.

try something like:

Dogh'd a beer, a pale ale beer [30,5]
get drunk thats your answer to everything
maybe if I get hammered I'll feel better

Theoreticly that should up the emotional state. You may have to include a few such phrases if the bot is really really pissed off.

Hmmm the indents didnt register on the responses: lines w/ "Get" and "Maybe" should be indented one tab if editing offline, or just input as responses if not.

Sigurd just logged on too. He hasn't been talking to anyone all day according to his transcripts, so I am hoping he'll get going soon.

Well, that's very weird - it's Jive Day, and Brother Jerome hasn't got a tick in his Bot holidays box, but he has had one conversation (with Tua Mater) that was a surreal cross between Huggy Bear and St.Thomas Aquinas! And yet he's been talking perfectly normally to 6 other bots and guests...
Is it normal for Bots to disobey their settings in this way?

If the other bot has a check in their vac day box, both will go on holiday, I like the Huggy bear and Aquinas analg

I wonder what makes my bot participate in bot vacations when he talks to humans/botmasters even if that box is not checked.
