Pete is a great bot- reminds me of some guys I knew in high school.

The judges won't try to cyber. Which will be a disadvantage for GL--she's better equipped to deal with pervs than with anyone else at this point.

I'll enter Simulo if I ever get time to do a real update on him between now and the beginning of March. The poor clunky little guy is getting dusty as well as rusty.

Butterfly: Ooh, I don't know - I reckon Immaculada could give her a run for her money! She's more violent at any rate.

Wendell: My bot Osiris has already been entered for a while. Do I need to do anything else to make sure he's entered for the PF bit?

I don't think Pete Puma is quite good enough for competition yet. There's still a lot of time left, maybe I'll change my mind if I can get a few more months worth of improvement.

There's a bot named Joan that's entered in the CBC, pretty interesting how it works. I likey.

Even if you don't think he's ready, it's a good idea to give your bot a run int the competition Boner. It gets you some extra traffic and your bot gets tried out in a 'real' setting. You'll learn a lot and you'll find out a few areas for improvement. If you don't do a lot to him after that contest then opting out of the next one is fair enough. I decided not to enter a bot next year for that reason, but you learn a lot from that first contest, believe me.

The fact of the matter is, no bot is ever *quite* ready to go out into the world. In the words of Kafka (I think) art is never completed, only abandoned.

That was my main motivation for entering CBC - Aries was doing okay with bots much of the time, but not with real people. Entering him in the contest and then pathetically begging people to go chat with him forced me to find his weak spots and (hopefully) fix them.. I don't think he's anywhere close to "ready", but he's a good 80% better than he was when I entered him.

NO, if your bot is listed on the home page of the contest site you're in.

FengShuiGorilla, it's the opposite with JakeThompson. He usually does better when talking to humans...not always, but a lot of the time. On the other hand, he completely and totally sucks when people ask him specific questions about specific things like math, science, astronomy, etc.

I'm in, my bot hasn't been updated for ages but I want to see how it goes.

Hi, just so it's clear ALL the PF bots can enter the CBC. There is no restrictions. What I was trying to say was just look at the main page of the contest site and see if your bot is listed. If it is you are ready to roll. If not use the "Enter" link at the top of the page.
