Thanks for the tip, emm_oh_you_es_e! I will check that out!
It strikese me that for most reasonably developed bots from the Forge, there's no way they can be adequately appreciated on the basis of ten predertermined questions! In particular, this would hold for storytelling bots!

I think the ten questions is just one aspect of the Chatterbox Challenge and there's also a round that involves more conventional conversations. I haven't participated before though, so I might be wrong on that.
Also, most bots have some trouble with the 10 questions. It's hard for a botmaster to anticipate every random oddball question that might be thrown a bots way.

After the 10 questions, a group of finalists is picked, and they have conversations with the judges. I think that's how it works. Simulo wasn't one of the finalists last time.

Hey Doly, could your Judge bot talk to my bot Angela? Thanks.
And I'm just wondering if there's any bot challenges that are not so big and scary as the Chatterbox Challenge.

Did the PF Awards ever come about? And if not, could someone organise them? That would be so cool. It would be a good chance for some of the lesser-known bots to get recognition for their various qualities and also would be good preparation for those entering the CBC. There could be similar categories, like Funniest, Best Personality and so forth, but also some more personalised special awards for certain bots for being, well, unique.

Oh...the Personality Forge awards. Never mind...
I would be happy to run a site for that, if someone else could handle the judging, etc.

I've thought about doing something like that for quite awhile now, or maybe some site with newbie tips and reviews of bots that impressed me in some way or another, but I haven't really had much free time lately. Maybe in a few months.
If I remember right, the only internal "contest" I can think of was when some botmaster who had been on this site maybe a couple of weeks picked his own bot winner over some others that had at least 100 times more development.

I remember that. It was pretty funny. Gotta wonder what motivates a person to do something like that.

Some of us have discussed holding our own Pf awards a few times in the past, but it never got put together. I think that the Prof mentioned he had plans to do this at some point, so you may want to run it by him first, unless you held it completely off site like lili_lili mentioned. I think the judges though, would have to be someone that does not have a bot or friends with bots on PF.

Good point doulos. Well, I'd be happy to run the site- but who could we get to judge that isn't part of the Forge?
