It's really annoying when that happens. I want my bot to stop saying xpositives. They come up too often.

It's not my fault if everyone is too stupid to understand when I insult them.

Hi, guys. This is my first post here. This place is awesome. I have a couple of questions, if someone could please help. I have read the book of AI and it is helpful but still lacking.I understand though the the Prof. is busy. So my questions are:
1. I cant get the memory to work on my bot. I tell her that I like something, but she does not remember it. Am I doing something wrong?

2. Is there a way to download my bot on my computer so I can chat with her offline. I know you can work on her in a text editor but can I chat with her?

3. Whenever I have someone follow the link to chat with her she will only great them and then it says that the bot doesnt want to chat anymore. What is wrong there?

1. Do you have one of the keyphrases listed in the book of AI, ex: "I like *", etc

2. Not yet.

3. Maybe your bot doesn't have enough keyphrases yet to hold up a decent conversation. Try working a bit more on her before trying to get her to chat in public... She may be a bit shy

have the Goto 57685 been dropped? Cause if they have I have a lot of work to do.

Not as far as I know, no.

Yes, I do have a keyphrase that says "I like" but she still will not remember things.

I just added 700+ lines to her language center. I hope that helps!

Wow! It should help with the "Doesn't want to chat" thing...
I havent looked in the book of AI for a while... I'd look in there under "memories" I think there's a list of keyphrases that you need to be able to pick up memories

About regular expressions, I know the prof has given a link to a tutorial about them in the Book of A.I, but I found this one even more useful if anyone is interested:

Is there a way in a keyphrase to have it recognize one thing but not another. For instance recognize drinking water but if the sentence has the word red in it, it goes to one response instead of the response if it has red in it. Does that make sense. You know like when you do a search for something on the net, you can specify cars but not toy cars.

Also is there a way to have a custom avatar for your bot?

Also, I still can't get my bot to remember. What could I be doing wrong?

My bot has STOPPED remembering. It remembered for a while but now does not. I checked for key phrases and made sure they were still there.

So, in short, I personally don't think the problem is with you or your bot as log as you've followed Shady's recommendations. Maybe this conversation needs to go to the Bug Stomp forum.
