I guess if you're a visual person you get more from the movies than the books. I'm more of a... I don't know what it would be considered. I read the book and am completely immersed in it, with none of the distance or disconnection I feel when just watching it on the screen. It's like tasting a food and feeling your teeth sink into it, as opposed to just looking at a picture of it. The only thing that can really drag me into a movie completely is the music.

That's so true! After I saw the Matrix, I went STRAIGHT to the local music store to pick up the soundtrack.

I just saw Ultra Violet. No poilers, but it's very heavy on the action and a bit short of plot. It was very pretty though. Does any one know if it was based on a video game?

i think i could've forgiven everything else that i didn't like about goblet of fire if it didn't have dumbledore randomly throttling people.

Bev: I don't believe so, though just a cursory look at the commercials makes me think it was plagerized heavily from Aeon Flux.

I think movies give another perspective of a story. And it benefits being somewhat different from the book (what is more boring than watching a film which replicates every single details from a book? In those cases, it's sure the book will always be better). Though, when the movie makes you learn new things about the story, complements the book, may it be with the soundtrack, visuals, characters, etc. than, it is when it works the best.
As for the Harry Potter's books, indeed, Dumbledore was too "human" in the goblet of fire. He shouldn't give so much hints of what he will become in the sixth book...

Bev: I didn't want to go see Ultra Violet, It looked cool up until the point int comercial when she just phases out and the sword or had passes right through her. I mean, that took all the zing out of it for me. Why does she need to fight and kill everyone and dodge bullets and swords when she can just phase and not get hurt.... its lame then.

I didn't read any reviews before I saw UV, but I'll warn you, there really was not much of a plot for me to give away. I am very dissapointed, because they could have made something cool out of it. It was pretty though. It should have been a video game.
