I enjoy Bond stuff on the same level as I enjoy Austin Powers movies......for exactly the same reasons.

They're two different genres... I like both kinds, but I fail to see what the two have in common(besides the spy theme).

Oh, I can't possibly take them seriously.

I think it's pretty easy to take Bond movies seriously. They're pretty believable(less so in earlier ones, but compared to other movies in that time period they were very much so). I mean, sure, there is the cliche of villain has plot to do something bad, hero foils plot and saves the day, but other than some basic plot elements, it's not really far-fetched at all.

IQ has nothing to do with what kind of movies a person likes. For example my father had a IQ of 246 and he read comics.

Seriously?

You implying someting about comics?

Sorry to sound persnickety, but perhaps you wrote that number wrong.

The highest recorded IQ is 228, listed in the Guiness Book of World Records. Marilyn vos Savant is listed on page 26 of the 1989 Edition. It says "...as a ten year old achieved a ceiling score for 23-year-olds, thus giving her an IQ of 228." Her record was retired to the guinness hall of fame because scores that high are no longer possible due to a lowering of test score ceilings.

Just how old do you think my dad is? It is possible that I may have gotten the numbers wrong but he was recorded at the genius level. That point however does not nullify my veiwpoint. people go to movies they like I happen to like scifi and fantasy.

You should know that IQ scores are COMPARATIVE. That is, they compare your intelligence relative to other people's intelligence. Since no one has a score near to that one, it is basically impossible to achieve. Not to mention, I don't believe a test has ever been written to measure that high. Most IQ tests top out at about 170 as a ceiling score.

Even Vos Savant's score was controversial. Take a look here: http://www.wiskit.com/marilyn/iq.html and see if you want might to rethink your statement.

Ladydyke, you're missing the point. We're saying that many relatively stupid people overlook the fact that a movie may be cheesy and have bad actors. It's not the type of movie we're talking about, but whether or not the person can stop watching the pretty explosions for two seconds to notice that it's a badly made movie.

well compared to todays movies alot of the older movies could have that said about them. But never the less beauty is in the eye of the beholder and and the same is true for movies.
