I liked The League of Extrordinary Gentlemen, the ending was corney and I never read the novel, so I guess I cant hold a strong opinion on it.

I agree about the mask but I, like you have not read it so whatever

I'm not saying I didn't enjoy LoEG, but really, after reading the graphic novels, I can't find it in myself to respect them.

oh did the movie makers ruin the book?

They took out the most interesting aspects of the graphic novel, and replaced them with fancy flim-flammery. Usual Hollywood stuff, really.

The movie makers ALWAYS ruin the book.

I disagree. Harry Potter's movie didn't ruin the book.

It was fun but...Keneth Branagh, Peter Gallagher, Kristen Davis (a female!), John Denver, ...[lots of guys after that]. I have to go down to 57% to get to Reese Witherspoon. I wasn't planing on a modeling career, but I will now have to go out and buy pink ribbons so people will know I'm a girl. *sigh*

I was saying that on general principle, though I rather lost respect for JK Rowling for selling out to the movie producers. It was... fun to watch at first, but ultimately a disappointment. I found Daniel Radcliffe's attempt at being Harry Potter painful to watch. The soundtrack was amazing though.

i disagree, daniel radcliffe is amazing!!!!!!! and i loved the harry potter movies and it stuck mostly to the storyline.

I think there is some correlation between how much you love a book, and how much you will hate the movie. I have never liked the movies of books I really love. Lord of the Rings was ok, but the books are so much better. I liked, but didn't love, the Harry Potter books, so I really don't mind the movies at all.

I don't know... even with some books that I disliked, I hated the movies worse, and with some books that I love (narnia and LotR for example), I love the movie versions as well. It really depends on how well it is made and how much respect they give to the original spirit and flow of the story.

Not that the LotR or Narnia movies were as good as the book, but they were very good nevertheless.
