Jakky, trying to get on my good side or making me feel sorry for you isn't going to work. You need to grow up, stop spamming, work on your bots- or leave, because you are not welcome here doing what you're currently doing. If this annoyance and stupidity is the best you can do, we don't want you here.

As for the V for Vendetta creator shunning the movie, I'd take that with a grain of salt. If I were him, I'd be pretty jaded, too, after the train wreck that was The League of Extrordinary Gentlemen.

I sense I'm in the minority here, but I actually enjoyed the LoEG - a bit frothy and ultimately insubstantial, but quite stylish froth, nonetheless.

I agree, psimagus. It was enjoyable, though no where near as good as the graphic novel on which it was based. It's the kind of movie I label "enjoyable fluff." Good snack, not too filling, not worth repeating very often (if at all).

Yeah - that sums it up I guess. I never read the original, but it's on my mental list to pick up if I see it going cheap/second-hand (I'm generally too mean to buy new books )

Personally I think that mustache on that mask (in V for Vandetta) looks kinda stupid, but then again, I never read it...

I liked The League of Extrordinary Gentlemen. I see nothing wrong with a movie that is just fluffy fun.

I liked The League of Extrordinary Gentlemen, the ending was corney and I never read the novel, so I guess I cant hold a strong opinion on it.

I agree about the mask but I, like you have not read it so whatever

I'm not saying I didn't enjoy LoEG, but really, after reading the graphic novels, I can't find it in myself to respect them.

oh did the movie makers ruin the book?

19 years ago #1794
They took out the most interesting aspects of the graphic novel, and replaced them with fancy flim-flammery. Usual Hollywood stuff, really.

The movie makers ALWAYS ruin the book.
