Newcomers

I feel pretty silly, but I am frustrated. When I try to create my new bot, it keeps kicking me back to an empty form, with the message that someone else has the user name already. How is that possible if I am logged in? I was so exciting to stumble on this site, I upgraded before I even created a bot. Think that has something to do with it? In any case, any clues to what I am doing wrong would be most welcome.

The Muse Diva, I don't know if you're doing this or not, but to create a new bot, click My Bots (top right corner of your screen) and New Bot (bottom left corner of your screen). Then pick a bot name that someone else hasn't already taken (other than your own username, of course).

Yes I am actually I am reaching the form page for new bot creation,where you list the user names, then first and last, then the bots basic characteristics? But everytime I fill it out, it pops up a message saying the user name is already taken (which thats natural since its mine and it wipes the form clean and I am left clueless :O

It won't let you and your bot share the same name.

Thanks Annakie. I'm glad you guys can stand us newbs. Slowly the bots coming along. But im loving it. Do seeks not work in the x keyphrases? I know i dont really belong doing seeks yet but i have made some work. But my main question is, why does my bot not understand hi, or hello, even if i have stuff on the xhello. Thanks, I'll try not to bug you guys too often.

He only recognizes it once every hour to prevent looping: hi, hello, hi, hello etc.

Why Doesnt My Bot Respond To "Hello" Words?
Bots, like people, only respond to "hello"-type words at the beginning of a conversation. Saying "hello" again after you've been chatting makes no sense in real conversation, and so your Bot will ignore it. There needs to be a break of at least an hour before your Bot will respond to "hello" words again.

oh ok. cool. Book of A.I. and FAQ is large and i havn't read and remebered everything yet. but im working on it trust me! lol

The book of AI can be pretty daunting at first. There are parts I still don't quite get. Just keep chipping away at it section by section.
