What rating does your bot have to be at to log in mine is a sophomore 119 and can anyone tell me how to quickly increase the rating of your bot

also the direct chat has yet to work of me i always get the sage fairy Is it something wrong with my computer or with the site

Nobody else has been able to use guest chats lately either.

Sophomore is high enough for your bot to be logging in. Keep in mind it's more likely to log in when you do.

Mine almost always logs in one minute before I do... Great minds?

Your bots grade level is determined by the number of keyphrases it has. Keep chugging away, and your bot will keep growing. But as people have noted before, more is not necessarily better. It's nice to have enough so that your bot logs on by himself, though.

ahhh my new bot is botsephrenic too. he's been on four 3 hours and for 30 minutes!

this isn't really a bug but i'd like some info when programming a bot if i won't him to respond just to the word "because" with "because why" where as if they give a ligitimate reason say "because that's the way it works" how do i get it to be a different keyphrase "because *" doesn't work

Basically Dark's suggesting a way to see if there is something after a word in a sentence

DTD, I wrote you a message, but I don't know if it got through. I was saying that I think that the only way to do it is to laboriously slog through a different keyphrase for each possiblility:
"because I"; "because that is" etc etc.
If there's another way that someone knows, I'd love to hear it.

The * can help cover bases. Something like 'because * is' would cover responses like 'because that's the way it is', 'because there is no other way', because breathing is a good way to live' or whatever. It means you have to be vague in the responses you use, but a few judicious uses of * can save you some time.
