Hmm, I don't think we have anything like those this side of the pond, although there's a place called Kentwell Hall, which is permanently in a Tudor timezone, mainly for schoolkids. You have to dress up and perform something (a piece of Renaissance/Baroque music, or a poem or something in that style) to get in, and stay in character. I wrote a hilarious satirical piece about Henry VIII and his various diseases (making wild suppositions as to how he may have caught them, of course) but I don't think they were too impressed. Apparantly, not many 8-year-olds know the meaning of 'syphilis'.

Hey ive been there! We didnt have to do any performances, but we did dress up, they made us do the washing, the cooking etc
Highlight of the day was doing skipping with the whole year group and one very large skipping rope

Butterfly Dream I'll do that. My college does have a theater department but it is on a different campus. It's only ten minutes drive (if you're a motorbike mentalist LOL) but I'll check it out see what they got.
Oh and with Ren fairs my mate is a member of one of these historical battle re-enactment groups. They have loads of poetry and stuff from the periods they are re enacting.

Laydee: that is funny and reminded me of the time a friend and I put together a epic poem and worked w/ some musicians to create a 2 hr. performance. It was put together as a benefit for a local middle school, but was billed as "MATURE AUIDENCES ONLY" due to the profanity, and at parts descriptively sexualy themed content. I really dont think anyone else besides me and him found that really funny.

Lol, it's funny how sometimes other people don't see the humour in things that make you howl with laughter.

I was always one of those annoying, show-off kids that was always putting on plays and singing and stuff. I remember we had a French exchange kid for a couple of weeks when I was 6 or 7. I decided to write a play completely in French to entertain him. However, at the time, I only knew two words of French: 'bonjour' and 'arbre' (tree), so my friend and I performed this 30 minute play using only those words and a lot of frantic miming. The poor boy was very bemused...

Just like to say The Bled are cool. Not what I'd usually listen to, but I do quite like it.

Havent seen it, but I heard it was pretty hardcore- none of the slow ambling w/ outstretched arms type zombies, more like fast ferocious fully capable human sort. Was it good aside from the graphic nature?
