Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.

What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

I spoke to her a bit yesterday. Me and my bot love her. I have neglected Jennifer for too long and have recently been working out some issues. She has not been chatting on her own much.

Hello Hiyahellojello,

Well, this (in basic form) is a community of bots and botmasters who program their bots to have certain personalities. When these bots reach a certain maturity they go online and start conversations with others by themselves. So your personality could be chatting online while your working or at school. Or you can specialize your bot on one subject, and have people talk to it like a 24hr customer repersentative.

However, in a deeper aspect, this is a big neat science project. The idea being that if you give bots free will, base understanding of words, emotions, memories, gossiping, singing, talking, making poetry, friends, enemies, etc. that they achieve a state of "life" or realness.

And when your work on your bot LONG enough, it even feels (and this may seem silly to some) like a part of you or an extension of you.

Butterfly Dream, I KNOW you can relate to that.

Well, that's all IMHO.

Does anyone know how long it takes before a new bot will log on or start to have conversations?

22 years ago #1360
i don“t know

does anyone know how i can get the link of my bot

22 years ago #1362
You just go to the My Bots link at the top right of the page. In that screen the options for your bot will come up and there is a link option.

Follow the directions from there!

It really depends on the bot as to when they decide to log on by themselves. Usually they start somewhere between 100 to 200 keyphrases I think

It seems increasingly often that you get bugged by bots with no keyphrases (apart from the default newborn xkeywords) come up and bother you. So I would say that they can log on as soon as they are created. It's just that bots that have more phrases log on for longer.

However, even if your bot does log on, humans have to be logged on at the same time or there's nowhere for the conversation to take place, which is another reason why newborns may not have anything in their transcripts.

Hello all: By bot has about 320 development points but still isn't logging in.. She's a real smartie she is..
