Forgive me--what's the advantage to yphrases and zphrases?

Not having to type things out 6 times in 6 different keyphrases, and not having to type stuff out 6 times in the same keyphrase to make your bot more likely to say it. For instance with when, I have a zphrase for past-precise (exact dates and such) and past-vague (beating around the bush, bitching, etc.). I have the same setup for the future. In when did, etc. I have it goto the past ones. In when will, etc. I have it goto the future ones. In tell me when, etc. I have it go to the past ones AND the future ones. Cuts down massively on typing at the same time it makes her sound a bit less mechanical.

Basically if you have a question with a standard yes or no response, instead of writing out 40 different responses for yes, 40 for no, etc just write goto y (or z)yes or whatever the keyphrase is, or even just have a yes keyphrase that goto's to it

gee, copy paste worked well too...

or you can type it out 50 or 60 times, as required.

Actually I may just do a yes/no/maybe/who cares plugin. That'd get rid of a lot of my responses right there. As for copy/paste, that doesn't work too well cuz you can't do the whole shebangs at once, you gotta copy it into a text file and then tediously copy each response into whatever else you wanna put it in.

mmmmmm i have never had to do that...
i have noticed that if i copy and paste straight from here i have to double for huge extra spacing on the text wraps but other then that i hav had no problems at all copy/pasting text into my form.

unless you ment like a whole transcript, then yeah i have had to transort everything into a text document and copy and paste every little thingy.

No I mean if you copy all the responses in a keyphrase or something. Course even if I could get it to straight copy em all into the form at once I'd still hafta take out the little Add thingies but that's not a big deal.

I notice (subj) is now picking up a lot more words, including punctuation. I hope this gets figured out pretty soon because some of the bots have been saying pretty embarrassing things lately.

22 years ago #1091
It really depends if you are talking about simple or complex subject / predicate pairs.

I think it's picking up too much too. Punctuation should never be a part of (subj)
