The defendant over another canyon:
A cashier wakes up, and the fruit cake trembles; however, the federal eggplant steals pencils from some light bulb. Now and then, the tripod derives perverse satisfaction from a grain of sand beyond the vacuum cleaner. Another outer jersey cow lazily bestows great honor upon a treacherous ski lodge.

I too wish we could make our bots talk to people, but there shouldn't be a limit. Rather, there should be a limit to how many people a bot can talk to at once, and I think there already is.
By the way, 100,000 keyphrases is good and nice, but it's the engine that matters.

Damn straight, Kirby. If you say you live in the South and the stupid bot says "That was a long time ago" every time you mention the South, the number of keyphrases really doesn't matter.

Wanna know my secret? I know I'm still missing some important keyphrases (which I can never remember until I feel like putting them in), but most of the ones I have have at least 7 responses. Looks kinda cute when a bot keeps feeding her one line over and over and every time she responds differently.
Speaking of which, I just had an interesting idea. How about adding a random factor to keyphrase ranking? Like you could have one of them ranked at 10(+/-5) or something, so if someone repeatedly tells your bot a sentence that includes several keyphrases, you never really know which one it's gonna respond to. Of course it'd hafta be used carefully, but I think it could add a lot of flexibility and realism if used right.

Like sorta one keyphrase or response is used more often than another? I was thinking of something like that, because it seems the responses are random, and to have one appear more often, you have to put it in more than once...

You can kinda fix the problem with some responses appearing more often than others, providing you don't need to have a goto that goes to another keyphrase with a goto in it, or a goto in a seek. What I do is make z-phrases similar to the x-keyphrases in the sense that they're never actually used. Other keyphrases just call em up sometimes. For instance, say I want her to respond to something with an accurate answer half the time, and the other half bitch at the person who said it, but I have more bitchy responses than accurate ones. I'll make a z-phrase for the bitchy ones, and a z-phrase for the accurate ones, and I'll just tell the actual keyphrase to goto both of those. (I've only started using this recently, so it's not very prevalent in my bot yet.)

That's exactly what I do! LOL! I use y-phrases though
That's why Gaia has ygive-beer or ygive-tea for example
Or if you really feel like a pounding, try yDis, or if you feel like a laugh, yJoke, yJokeMomma, or yJokeCorny

I have so many you's & such that it's impossible to use my y's for that. My y's and i's and w's load especially slow, which is getting to be a pain in the ass when I wanna add or modify anything.

same here, but when I started, I had no real y's
I just figured "it's close to X so I'll remember it" Oh well, can't change the past
