Many questions are answered in the FAQ.

Is there a way I can delete one of my bots?

Hi guys, I'm new here. Just wanted to say hello

@Wolfius:

did you try the "Send Bot To The Trash Heap" button at the very bottom of that bot's Settings page?

It is said that bots below a certain level of AI development can be deleted by a button. (Don't want to create and discard a dummy bot just to verify, though.)

Having read everything in the Book of AI, I'm somewhat lost as to a couple of things.

I downloaded one brain (which appears to be an old version of a previous bot (pre 4/2015) with a similar name, and made another bot and downloaded that one's brain (a lot less information, but it had the correctly formatted keywords - and basically that was it).

From the book, I mostly understand each part, what it does, why it does it insofar as what I put in. I think I understand that the AI engine operates independently and "runs" the brain I will be creating, offering the spell-checking and "interpretation" of the input and such without me having to worry about it.

So far so good.

But I'm not at all certain about the implementation. Basically, I need to know what particular things goes where. Are the keywords that are used in the brain ANYWHERE all clustered together? Do they go with scripts, or are scripts in their own section? That kind of thing.

Since none of this is mentioned in an overall manner, I'm reminded of BASIC coding, without the number lines, which IMPLIES that it doesn't really matter (from a functional point of view) what I put where as long as there's a way for the AI to use the brain to interpret input.

Spaghetti coding is what we called it back in the day.

Is that the case here? Is it left up to the coder to decide where to put things? (In some ways, very liberating, and in some ways a PITA to keep straight.) Or are each types of coding clustered together in their own sections?

Basically, I'd need a layout that has examples of how to implement some basic things (without necessarily an actual "brain", though that would help) with respect to how to put each part together. An outline, of sorts, with respect to how a brain (other than the keywords, which I have in my brain) are implemented in the brain.

I think once I have that cleared up, I can start doing some neat things. But I'm sitting here with all these cool parts, and no idea how they go together.

Can anyone help?

Create a bot, go to its language center, read the book of ai and take it from there. You'll be good after a few weeks.

LarsB, I really do despise trial and error because it wastes time.

A simple outline is all I'm asking for:

Example 1
*******************************************
Headers

----Keyphrases (xsomething))
(List all keyphrases used in the brain here)
----Scripts
(List all scripts used in the brain here)
----Commands
(List all commands used in the brain here)
*************************

Or something like this:

Example 2
*********************************************

Headers

First responses group
Scripts used in this section
Keyphrases used in this section
Commands used in this section.

Second responses group
Scripts used in this section.
Keyphrases used in this section.
Commands used in this section.
*********************************************

Is the format of how it's put together at all important for actual processing? If so, what's the format? If not SAY SO!

That's all I need to know.

I have told you what you need to know. It is all there, what you want is not how this works. Good luck and have fun bot building.

Here's a weird one. Using an android based browser some bots (animated?) Appear to need a "plugin" but I can't figure out what I need. I tried chrome and Firefox but they don't seem to have a native plugin so I assume it's something I need to add manually? Any clues?

Well, thanks for nothing, I guess. I'll go back to UltraHal, instead. At least there're more helpful folks on that forum.

@ Mathion: probably you'll find more friends in a different site or more botmasters that do it for job so they can be more useful but i doubt there are many great AI like the one created by Benji Adams. This is a really masterpiece that is constantly improving. Good luck then.

When I am building a bot in the language centre, how do I go to the page for words starting with the letter Y? I seem to have a choice of

#A BC DE FG HI JK LM NO PQ RS TU VWZ | x-keywords

Thanks
