Many questions are answered in the FAQ.

@ LarsB: I've tried again and again with mem-rem but it still doesn't work. Need to clarify things like for example what I should write in the Aiscript initialization. Instructions are good, the BOAI is great and i'm slow in understanding. Care to help me anyway? Thanks.

kp: my name is, call me
ai script (for the kp): rem (postkey) as "name";
in responses use: (mem-name)

on the settings page in the AI script initialization box: default (name) as "name"

The BoAI has a different approach but this works well for my bots.

@Ricardo, i think conditional responses could shine here. First, establish the gender (kp:are you (a|) male?), use seeks (yes/no/xnomatch) and create a memory for each seek (rem "yes" as "ismale"), (rem "no" as "ismale"),(rem "notsure" as "ismale").
Read chapter 10 on conditional responses to use the contents of (mem-ismale) for the gender specific responses.

@Ricardo, the kp must go in one or two categories of x-keywords like xhello or xinitiate.

@ LarsB > I don't understand why my bot doesn't catch this KP: am i (p:ab-female-names). It should catch the question "am I (whatever female name in the plug-ins)?".

7 years ago #6582
Yes, that should match if the plug in name is correct and the name is actually listed in the plug in. Also, is the content of the plug in correctly formatted?

@LarsB> I've brought the plug-ins from the plug-ins list, how can i check whether it is correctly formatted?

It was my understanding that the x-keywords when you first start a bot are operational. The xfavorite for my bot does not appear to be working. When asked about a favorite, the bot replies with xnone response. I thought the plugins (type) and (specific) were ready to use. The Book of AI states:

Bots are able to automatically answer any question about what their favorites are, or which kind of thing they like the best.

Is there something i have to do with the plugins before the xfavorite will work?

@seneca, the boai tells us how to create plugins, open the plug in and verify against the boai.

@Lucus, maybe i am wrong but i remember there were issues with connecting with wordnet some years ago, not sure if that has been taken care of in the mean time. Have you tried the debug page and tested xfavorites, perhaps the xnone ranks higher. The debug page will show this.

7 years ago #6587
@Lars In addition to getting the xnone response, I also sometimes get the xnonsense response.
This seems to be the pertinent info from the debug:

@Lucus, can you test and post again after you have unchecked "Access knowledge base" on the settings page? I am also wondering why it considers the input to be Blab - this used to mean there are no responses to choose from, an xnone or xnonsense will follow, as is the case here.
