Actually I think there's going to be quite a market for 'dirty'. That's why there's an Adult section on Mondobot. *shrugs* I have little personal interest in that kind of thing, but if it can fund improvements for the Forge and someone else does the writing, that's fine with me.

Well, dirty as in "cyber" there might be a market for...not dirty as in "crazy ass sex fiend who teases but never does anything"

Woah, it says a lot about someone if they can't even get a real person in a chatroom to cyber with them though...

Well look at all these kids running around trying to cyber with the bots here. Perverted kids often grow up to be perverted adults with money

Onyxflame- Actually, if you labeled her:"crazy ass sex fiend who teases but never does anything" you might be surprised at the # of hits you get. lol
...if they want her to do stuff, you can charge them $50/hr for the upgrades.

Ehh, if I wanted to make her actually do stuff, she'd be that way now. The closest thing she gets to it is (verb-pos)ing you (which usually makes no sense).

This whole idea just seems ridiculous to me.
I just can't see how anyone would pay a dime for the use of any bot on the site right now. I think a bot a would have to respond with a coherent and relevant response at least 90% of the time to whatever is said for it to be marketable, and I just don't think the PF engine is remotely close to allowing that. There are just too many quirks that trip up even the best of bots right now, maybe some option to turn off or even customize a bot's preprocessing might help quite a bit. As it is now, it's rare that even the best of bots sound anything close to human for more than 3 or 4 consecutive responses. Also, some of us still haven't been able to use Flash chat for the longest time, even while using the most common browser and OS on the market. If I was wanting to buy or rent a bot for my website, I'd absolutely insist that got fixed before signing on, for obvious reasons.
And on the botmasters' end, most bots are written too much with other bots in mind to be of any use. All xgossip, (friend), (gossipname), etc. would have to go. Let's say I had a bonertheclown.com website up, I certainly wouldn't pay $650 for Julie Tinkerbell to tell random Non-PF visitors on my site about how she likes Melora. They'd end the chat right away.
Anyhow, I hope this isn't taken personally by anyone, it's just an observation that maybe might help improve the chances of this working.

It does disappoint me when something I know there's a keyphrase match for randomly goes to xnone, xmemory, xemote, or xgossip. I don't know why certain bots can ask about Julie's love life and match the keyphrase, but when Pete Puma says the exact same thing, she blathers on about Melora...not just once, but many many times. It's kinda spooky.

Well, I just used that one random pair of bot names because I've seen it a lot and it popped into my head first, but I'm just talking in general. If I'm some random interweb user on someone's site, I'm not going to get anything out of gossip or most memories.
Still, the keyphrases going unnecessarily to xphrases is absolutely frustrating. You can't get Julie to key up to a pretty simple sentence, I can't get Pete to key up properly to the default three word response that comes up every single time, and the bots are stuck exchanging the same crap.

It's easy enough to turn gossip off. I'm not terribly interested in bot gossip either, and I haven't used the memories much.
I've seen sexbots out there someplace, usually without much personality or much thought devoted to them. But people even subscribe to those.
Boner, you'd be surprised how much people suspend disbelief when they want to.

'Bot #0001 Alpha doesn't gossip. Period. His xgossip phrases are all xnones -- it's as simple as that.
