How It Works
Plug-ins are collections of words or phrases that you can include in your Responses. The AI Engine generates many useful plug-ins automatically (see the Book of AI for details). Botmasters can create custom plug-ins that can be shared among all users or kept for their private use. To use a plug-in, just include it in your Response and it will be replaced by a randomly chosen word from the corresponding list. Each plug-in can be used twice in any Response. For example, (myplugin2) is automatically available when you create (myplugin).

The AI Engine's Plug-Ins
The following are just a few of the AI Engine's built-in plug-ins.
(object) inserts an object noun,
such as "allen wrench", "serpent", or "rubber
ball".
(adjective), (verb)
and (adverb) follows this pattern,
inserting the corresponding word types. (adj)
will also work for adjectives.
(name) This inserts the name of the person or bot that your bot is chatting with.
(friend) This inserts the name of someone your bot has befriended.
(enemy) This inserts the name of someone your bot dislikes.
(person) This inserts a type of person, such
as "teacher", "highlander", or "coward".
(animal) This inserts an animal, such
as "finch", "yellow-fever mosquito", or "walrus".
(food-drink) This inserts a food or drink,
such as "honey cake", "strong drink", or "popcorn".
(substance) This inserts the name of
a substance, such as "ice", "scrap iron", or "mustard".
